Who can see your viewing activity?
Can use the chat box
I’d like to ask a quick question?
Can we do a quick go round
saying your name and where you’re calling from and whether there is a lockdown where you are?
Or people could just introduce each other in the chat?
I agree - introduce ourselves in the chat?

Hi. I’m Muthia, postgrad student at the University of Glasgow.
Another of my concerns is that we must limit our actions and effects of our actions – what is the purpose and meaning of freedom at such environmental and social costs – but that govts will certainly take advantage of these conditions to limit personal freedoms.
Good day, all. John Anderson, Minnesota, USA. I work in agriculture, forages.

KaChina in Asheville. strong concerns in the direction and choices we have ahead of us.
Such isolation/void we feel - how can we be catalysts for "community"?
interestingly Nixon came very close to introducing universal income in US in 1960s
Aware I’ve already spoken but if there’s room I’ve another question!
Trump & co can easily spin this into a form of scapegoating and nationalism
UBI is not on offer yet - it’s something that could offer genuine security….
and structural change
Also striking that unlike climate change most of the countries most affected earliest are the richer countries not thee poorest.
A warning about Trumpism (with obvious parallels elsewhere) exploiting this for scapegoating is here: https://nonzero.org/post/red-virus-blue-virus
I have a comment
Laura, could I respond to this current question?
I like what Gehan is saying
@jenstout and that I think is what a UBI could support
the power of embodied experience!!
Andrew Curry after Rachel?
I don’t need to speak again.
I would also want to add something about privilege/class too - my friend could hear domestic abuse taking place upstairs from her last night
Please, Gehan. Yes.
Please join after Rachel.
Not that domestic abuse is confined to some classes… but it’s worth remembering
All is intersectional.
I liked the Jungian male/female discussion from Laura earlier. Referencing Michael, although bad actors will try to take advantage, those ultra-male authoritarians are having a mixed crisis at the moment (e.g. Bolsonaro’s rhetoric producing strong and hostile response in Brazil(.
i am going to have to leave but thank you all for the thoughts and reflections. You’ve given me more to think about and ideas to move forward in the strange times.
Thanks. T.Huxley says the limits of capitalism are natural resources and ethics. Climate is the natural resources. Covid is ethics.
Good point. My healthcare providers are not wearing masks though other measures are taken. (Just a quick note for chat.)

Would be interested in using chapters as point of reference for discussion.
Yes Katy, me too - I’m returning to Spiritual Activism and similar books and would be keen to talk through this a bit in the coming days/weeks.
